She also holds a B.S. degree in Pharmacology from the University of California Santa Barbara. Prior to working in the veterinary field, Rachel worked in Pharmaceutical Research for several years. Sonora Orchard, Kennel Assistant

Rachel Updated Bio Photo2017

Sonora Orchard was first inspired to pursue a career in the field of veterinary medicine through an experience with Guide Dogs for the Blind. After volunteering with Tucson’s branch of guide dog puppy-raisers, Sonora had the opportunity to visit the Guide Dogs for the Blind campus in Boring, Oregon. During her visit she toured the in-house veterinary clinic and immediately fell in love with the dogs and the skilled people who cared for them.

Since then, Sonora has pursued an education in veterinary science and is currently enrolled in PCC’s Veterinary Technician program. She began employment at Strickland Veterinary Clinic in September of 2017 and her heart is always warmed by the fuzzy clients she gets to work with.
